On Things to Ban Instead of Commonly Banned Books

@royaljunk I only just read it recently at the recommendation of friends who loved it as children. When I accused them of giving me Christian propaganda to read, they had no idea and I think I may have ruined their naive memories of the book. But still!!! How do you miss that???

On Things to Ban Instead of Commonly Banned Books

@royaljunk ....but A Wrinkle in Time is a heavy-handed Christian allegory?

On It Still Doesn't Taste Like It Sounds

Blech, bad science writing. "The fat globules are cracked open to release yellow butterfat" -- nothing is "cracked open", just an emulsion that's destabilized. Here is the best explanation of whipped cream- and butter-making that I've come across for those so inclined:

On Mixing Greek and Latin Roots Is Wrong

Sooo it'll still be awhile until we can have DIY marriages where you can either print the standard form off the internet, or draw up your own marriage contract with a lawyer and the 1 to 20 other people that you wish to create a legal familial link with?

On "Send your karaoke questions for Lindsey to karaokeconfessional AT gmail.com"

I love karaoke and my friend introduced me to perhaps the best thing that I never knew of... STAGE NAMES! What's your stage name? Once boyf and I sang "I'll Cover You" together and our stage names were Bristol and Levi. Later, I sang "I Want You Back" and dedicated it to "Levi". SO MUCH POTENTIAL!

Also, this may have been the best moment of my life: I ended up at karaoke the same night as the men's glee club, and when I got up to sing "Somebody to Love" by Queen, it turned out that they had all sung it before in glee club and they all sang the background vocals. Straight out of a movie, I'm telling you.
