(true though! i have lots of silk scarves from estate sales, which i frequent with my weird mom.)
1) born sandals.
2) i have a 27-year-old coworker who dyes her hair gray and it looks amazing.
using the toddler's foot as a phone is also apparently HILARIOUS.
this is GREAT. it is my DREAM to work in a natural history museum.

if you're an imaginative, bookish, and also reasonably perceptive kid, you get really used to the feeling of things being real to you but not real in real life. i figured out the truth about santa gradually and it was super non-traumatic, i think because it was about the same as looking up and going about your day after being super-immersed in a book. it's fine!
POLICY PEOPLE! does anyone know of a good, user-friendly resource for labor statistics for countries other than the US? i've got an officemate who occasionally likes to be like "wellllll, i don't knowwwwwww" about sexism being a real thing, and i can't use american salary data to back up arguments because then he'll be like "well we all know AMERICANS suck..." (if it turns out that income disparity is in fact less in Perfect Europe, i'll be happy! but i suspect that it is not.)
@Emmanuelle Cunt this is great news! i will investigate promptly.
i live in switzerland, and peanut butter is sold in tiny jars here like caviar. not since the trader joe's discussion have i been so homesick.
