@backstagebethy I wasn't big on the idea of it, but one of the first things my dad asked was "Do I get to walk you down the aisle?" with big sad puppy dog eyes and a look like he just knew his independent feminist daughter was going to say no. And really, it didn't mean as much to me to walk down on my own as it did to give my dad this one little thing that will make him so super happy.
@dtowngirl File under reasons I love my fiance: he wanted one too. And now we clink them together all "Wonder Twin powers unite!"
I so needed this today. Every conversation with my parents lately ends up on wedding planning (which is nearly a year away), and them second guessing everything I'm doing. They're making me twitchy.
I'm someone who went from being all "How could you ever let your cat outdoors?!?" to having indoor/outdoor cats. I think my dude summed it up perfectly once by explaining that everyone thinks they're doing the best for their pets because they love them, and when someone challenges that idea by doing something different, it challenges the love of their own pets. They get defensive because they want to know they're doing the best for their pet, and nothing is going to change their mind (at least not comments on the internet).
FWIW: our cats were strays and their kittens. I cannot imagine the apocalyptic damage our home would suffer if we tried to keep them in. Nor would I want to for their sakes. They choose to be outdoors most of the time. And they're happy and healthy. Heck, one literally chewed a hole in the door after she was spayed because he tried to keep her inside for a couple of days. But I know lots of happy indoor cats, too. So, you know, do what's good for your individual pet.
How did the clock disappear from one and then end up in the next if each group only saw the one previous version?

@OhMarie I was always allergic to cats up until a couple of years ago. Allergies change.
The one on the left looks just like my Loki! Tuxedo cats are the cutest.
@Josh is like Germany Ambitious and Misunderstood
That's how my dude got ours. Well, 2 in the ally free, the other 3 were the kittens resulting from not catching the other two fast enough. And yes, 5 cats, I know.
@sprayfaint :) I was thinking more subject than style.
