Manfriend and I were talking about this last night and I actually decided that Michael K. Williams would be my ideal Batman. I suppose he's not conventionally handsome enough to play Bruce Wayne, but I still want to see them both happen. He's so INTENSE.
I'm not horrified so much as...confused.
Well, my best friend and I are rereading Animorphs and finding that they are way more disturbing than we remembered. Does that count as the magic being ruined? :B
April's tampons are one of the few instances I can think of off the top of my head of menstruation being addressed in survival scenarios in teen books. And I think but I'm not sure, maybe fabel remembers, that later on April noted that she wasn't getting her period anymore because of stress or malnutrition or something?
@fabel Remnants was, like everything else K.A. wrote except maybe Making Out, a fuuuuucked-up series. However it did provide me with a quote that I use to describe Steve Jobs to this day, which is that he "built an empire in his garage."
I def need to reread that one, because now I'm not sure I ever finished the series.
Jalil and April were my favorites. If I reread it now (which I need to do but may prove difficult since I don't own them), Senna would be my new fave, obviously. The weirdest things from those books stuck in my head, like how April's friend Magda had a barbed-wire tattoo and Christopher said Etain was like a "cherry-red Viper" and her mother was a Rolls Royce.
I really liked how she worked in world mythology as well as aliens. It was a cool mix.
If Jay-Z lost to the Strokes I think that would actually usher in the apocalypse.
YES YES TALK ABOUT EVERWORLD WITH ME. I was such a mythology kid so they were like tailor-made. :D
Did you read Remnants? K.A. is the best at fucked-up kids books.
Now that I'm thinking about it, Marco may have been the root of my liking for guys with long hair...o.O
