@Melusina The $3 million is the total cost, the $300,000 is the 10% that is owed after insurance.
Pizzolatto says pretty explicitly here that it's not Rust or Marty. He also comments on the misogyny thing:
Is there still any such thing as a London pin-up group or was there ever? I just moved here.
I recognize that Mark McGrath being on this list is completely legitimate but that song about the halo hanging from the corner of his girlfriend's four post bed was my (inappropriate) jam in fifth grade.
"dialling up the twee and dialling down the smart"
I think it's profoundly unfair that both cannot be dialed up. I like sundresses and nail art and make-up blogs and I have a big forehead so I think I look better with bangs, but I will still hold my own in a political conversation and I will not entertain anybody's attempt to get me to shower them with "magic and sparkle." What exactly is it that I'm supposed to wear* and what hobbies am I supposed to have to be taken seriously and imagined as a complex human being?

@camanda I'm currently finishing up a degree in Professional French (as opposed to a traditional French literature MA.) I don't know if there are equivalent programs in Spanish, but the people in my program generally seem to go on to do pretty cool stuff and still work in the language they love. It's especially good if you are not really interested in working in academia. Admittedly though, there are less native French speakers who are eligible to work in the US than native Spanish speakers, so there is maybe more of a competitive disadvantage for you.
