@ladybee Oh god, I hope you met like they did.
These are making me so happy. My boyfriend, adorably, loves this movie. I was telling him about these posts, which I guess prompted him to ask which couple from the movie we were most like. After careful consideration, the consensus was, "the porn couple." And I couldn't be happier.
*End sappy, self-centered post."
You could do anything with the rest of these and I would forgive you, because Sam & Joanna are perfect and deserve to be happy together for their ENTIRE LIFETIMES.
@Linette Oh, no one should ever have sympathy for Alan Rickman's character. Ever. He's a total tool. But Emma Thompson loves him, and love makes us do some weird stuff sometimes, like stay with a total tool. But I swear to whomever that whenever I need to make myself cry, I just think of her character in the bedroom after finding out about the necklace, while Joni Mitchell croons. It's such a good/sad cry. Ugh. My heart.
@meetapossum I say "I hate Uncle Jamie!" all the time and nobody ever gets it. I say "Where the fuck is my fucking coat?" anytime I lose anything, which I'm sure COULD be confusing, but I live alone, so nobody else needs to decipher if I've lost the potato peeler or my actual coat.
What an amazing human being. I swear I'm never going to spell it "tough" again. "Tuff" forever!
All I could think while reading this story was, "Hero, absolutely."
"Tuffing it out": Responding to an intense, difficult situation with presence of mind, grace, and compassion.
I want to cling to this story like a liferaft in the sea of all the terrible things that are happening today.
Antoinette Tuff is so amazing. I hope she becomes a byword for heroism. Also, the people claiming that it was actually the presence of armed lawmen that stopped him are enraging. She deserves all the credit here. And there should be so much credit. So, so much credit.
