On Interview With a Feminist Mormon

@theotherginger There are a lot of Mennonites in my area. I want to hear more about you! If you want, of course!

@clover I feel like I (as a female) am always the pursuer, and I think that does scare some dudes off. I feel like it should be flattering? Like, hey I like you, I'm letting you know. Would it be nice as a dude to actually know instead of wondering? I'm not entirely sure.

@iceberg I think those little things are my biggest pet peeves with any kind of roommate, romantic or platonic.
I was telling someone my brother would be the best roomie because we were both raised to keep the trash can under the sink and rinse off our dishes when we're done.

@owlegg Yes I hate reading my writing, esp much later. I would say that other people always find it less dumb, though. Obvs your boss hired you ;)

On Selections from Taco Bell's New "Millennial Menu"

@Loose Seal Hahaha when I started reading this I thought it was a spam post at first... "I literally lost 10 pounds by singing up for blahblah"

@polka dots vs stripes Virtually no public transit to speak of. You're going to have to have a rental car. KC is very spread out.

@Lurkasaurus That one made some tears well up. I feel like there are more things that conservatives and liberals should come together on like that.

@polka dots vs stripes Most of my travels are food-centered. Eat at these places:
Gates or Arthur Bryant's
Blue Nile Cafe: http://www.bluenilekc.com/
The Foundry

I would recommend wandering around Westport probably, and then if you have time to kill the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art is not too far off and free.

Things I would avoid:
The Plaza. Just stores you can visit in other cities. With not very much clearance because too many people shop there. Mostly chain restaurants.

@fondue with cheddar Dude I feel you. My current roommates are a mess, and it is affecting my mental health. I want to get rid of things but I'm not allowed to. They complain about how there's not enough room, but there totally is, there's just too much stuff, and 80% of it is not important.
Perhaps you can separate things by what you think, and just have him approve? I feel like more might be gotten rid of if your opinion of what is important is a factor in his decision. "How often do I use this?" "Do I really NEED this or just think I do?" "Is the space this occupies more valuable than the actual item?" My answer to the last question is almost always YES.

ETA: I purge a lot, another question I ask myself is "If I keep this am I just going to end up throwing it away 3 years from now instead of right now?"

On Manly Me

@Linette "but I think this article really shows how your internal reasons for choosing those friends are a pretty good indicator of whether or not you have drunk the Kool-Aid."
Yeaaahh!
I would say my friends are half-and-half right now. One of my bffs who is male was noticing that he has lately been hanging out with all girls (that includes me) completely on accident. I pointed out that a couple of months ago I was the only girl in our group outings usually. I like my friends.
In my younger days I was very concerned with being one of the guys. It was dumb, but I think we all go through that at some point before we're old enough to figure out that for our friends to be real we have to be real too.
