@PatatasBravas I wish! I am barely getting enough work at the moment to cover my own rent.
@meetapossum My theory is that accents in Britain had a lot longer to develop in (relative) isolation. Then all those accents moved to America, got mixed up, and had only a few hundred years of evolving separately in far-flung regional areas before telephones and the railroad got all the accents mixed together again.
Attention Melbournianites: I am seeking a new housemate! Are you, or some lovely person you know, looking for a home? It's a really pretty house with a big yard in Preston, the bedroom is large with built in wardrobes, and you would be living with two librarians and two cats.
@realtalk Hello self! We were also in an open relationship that I wasn't really enthusiastic about, reasoning that getting to share him was better than not having him in my life at all. I HOPE what I've learned from this is to be better at boundaries.
@par_parenthese Yeah, logically I know he is TERRIBLE for me, and I don't envy this new girlfriend the crap he is likely to put her through. I think it just hurts that he's moved on, especially as I know I'm not ready for another relationship yet. I just can't comprehend how he's still not reeling from the intensity of the feelings we had for each other (strong emotional memory here too).
I found out this week that my ex-boyfriend has a new girlfriend. I thought I was over this guy but this news has left me feeling like I've been punched in the guts, so turns out I'm not!
@meetapossum I've smoked weed I found before and it was fine. If someone was going to lace weed with PCP, wouldn't they be more likely to give it to someone (rather than plant it in an elevator) so they could stick around and see the results?
@Cat named Virtute At a TAFE library (TAFE is Australian for... polytech? community college? something along those lines). Can I brag here that I handed in my last ever assignment on Monday and was hired on Thursday? It's only a casual position, but as with your job, it's a foot in the door at least!
Yes, it certainly makes those dreaded 'so what do you do?' questions at parties less of a drag
@Cat named Virtute Congratulations! I got a library job this week too! My first ever and I am so excited because now I can call myself a librarian instead of a library student.
