On Ask Baba Yaga: Will Lost Love Be Regained?

@fondue with cheddar Of course. I return to invisibility.

And that is good news! I wait, impatiently.

On The Evolution of Playgirl: Reviewing Three Decades of Covers

Scarlet magazine which closed a couple of years back was very much old-style playgirl sex mag for women. It had photoshoots with hot people, stories featuring sex with heroines of all body types, and reviews of sex toys, alongside things like politics discussions. It was great.

On Ask Baba Yaga: Will Lost Love Be Regained?

@fondue with cheddar Wow, not currently invisible! I am logged in with facebook, so maybe that is why I am sometimes invisible (I have been told that sometimes my posts disappear and reappear a few hours later).

Would it be possible perhaps to completely redo the comments section? It's buggy as all hell and it's going to get worse the more people use it. Probably better to change it now than to have to because it crumbles.

A different commenting system may have a reporting/block option for spam, allowing it to be removed as soon as its seen. If it had a relatively intelligent spam filter it could send suspect ones to the queue, which would be frustrating for the few genuines who got caught up in it, but easier on everyone else.

But then, it might not be possible to do that, so...

On Ask Baba Yaga: Will Lost Love Be Regained?

@sarah girl it does indeed. A better spam filter required?

Whereas I am certain my (dull but not spam) comments are invisible except to me. Am I invisible?

How about now?

On An Argument for the "Irish Goodbye"

I've taken to doing this.

My husband on the other hand insists on going round and saying goodbye to every friend which adds anything up to an hour on to our time.

Especially if some of them have ghosted because then he wanders around looking confused and drunk because he can't find them to say goodbye to.

@sophia_h My husband is 40 and I am 27. I know it's your sister, but really, if they're at the same level and the relationship is respectful and loving...

On When Killer Whales Actually Kill

Fun, half-related fact. An elephant was once executed for murder.

On “Last Night I Drempt of Leo”: DiCaprio’s Oeuvre, Reviewed by a 15-Year-Old

Oh God, I am glad I am the sort of scatty person who forget to keep journals.

Though I had a livejournal at seventeen. What if it's still out there.

On Will You Sign My Yearbook, Mr. President?

All this pales into inconsequence next to the important issues.

Kelli! Did you call him?

On Explanations

@Sea Ermine I was fortunate in that my first baby-deer steps into geekdom were around people who - while I would hesitate to call them enlightened - did at least not actively loathe women. When I did finally meet them it completely threw me off. Here I was, just wanting to indulge my hobby and I was treated as this weird... combination sex-bot and insult-collector. It was quite clear they didn't consider me a real person, just as a potential hole to stick themeselves into.
