@straw hat Mile End is definitely on my list as is ice skating. I'll have free time there Friday night and pretty much all day Saturday up until the concert at night so if you have any suggestions for dinner spots or brunch places, that would be great too! We're staying right near the Musee D'Art Contemporain but I used the Metro the last time I was there so I have no problem venturing elsewhere for good eats!
Canadian Pinners! I'm heading to Montreal the weekend of Dec 22 for a concert but I'll have time over the weekend to see/do other things. I was there once before but didn't get enough time to truly explore. Please send your suggestions!
@LurkiLoo Goat cheese makes everything better.
I made a side salad for Thanksgiving from an Emeril recipe on GMA. It only consisted of spring mix, orange slices, thinly sliced shallots, goat cheese crumbles and I threw in some candied walnuts to mix it up. The dressing was just a mixture of olive oil and balsamic with a splash of some leftover orange juice and S+P. Easy and good!
@falconet Parchment paper also works if anyone is interested in a super cheapo option!
Currently at this precise moment in time, there is someone in my vicinity snapping her gum in her mouth....and she has been ALL DAY.
@whizz_dumb Did you steal my Friday night plans? Sub Parks & Rec for House Hunters and we are having the same night!
LW2-be my friend. I can't help but feel boring too and I don't do half the amount of things you do! I've always sort of felt like my interests were not inside the realm of my peers and now that I'm at a job I don't like, the pressure to seem exciting to outsiders in order to gain friends only increases.
I agree with a Lady in that you should definitely try to be more introspective and give yourself more credit but I 100% understand that's easier to say than do.
@Lisa Frank Give blood? I've heard supplies are low post-Sandy and I would but I've had a tattoo too recently to be considered.
I live in North Brooklyn and came away with power too so I feel your guilt. I tried volunteering to clean up the park in my neighborhood this weekend but they already had such a big turn out that they closed the registration! I can't really get anywhere either but if all you can do is donate groceries, it's definitely appreciated somewhere!
@like a rabid squirrel I did the SAI program at John Cabot. Not sure where the St. John's campus is/was? I know there are several different programs around the city including one from Temple too.
@Be But Little How long did you study there? All four years? I LOVE San Crispino. You are a lady after my own heart. I am well versed in the study of gelato.
