Since he's only coming in contact with Middle Eastern women who want plastic surgery, isn't his viewpoint a little bit skewed?
In my experience, yes, there are of course women who wear designer brands and ridiculous high heels and fancy makeup under their abayas and veils, but I've also met quite a few who throw on the abaya over pajamas or a tshirt and jeans to leave the house.
And it's definitely not true to say that a Middle Eastern woman's focus is entirely on looking good for her husband. Women have varied interests and motivations for their actions, even in Dubai.

@cosmia Related question: do you have a preferred kind of tea infuser/ball? I like looseleaf tea, I like to make individual servings of it, and I feel unsophisticated with my leaves just floating around, but every tea infuser that I've ever tried gives the tea an unpleasant metallic-y taste. Are there kinds that don't do this?
@MilesofMountains Ah, I like the sound of that. Do you have an example of what that might look like? I haven't had bangs since 3rd grade and I'm a bit nervous about them.
@flimflannery Haha, the first google image result for Amy Poehler is this one, which is delightful
