@angelinha If that is the case he will reap the whirlwind. I've been researching him but now with this I'm totally digging around. So far nothing but I'll keep looking. Thank you!
@everyone Thank you for all the tips. It is something we've talked about but not set any date or anything. I have been pretty withholding with information and everything just because well, I'm not really trusting so I'm glad I threw the idea out there for you guys so I can have different perspectives. Thank you 'Pinners I knew I could count on you!
Ok Pinners. So I have something I need to run by people who don't know me. There is a man I met on a dating site who is fabulous! However, he works in oil off the coast of Norway. He has a few days off and wants to fly me out there to meet. Yes, meet. We haven't met yet. We do chat and text and call when we can because the connection on his side isn't great. I really want to do this, but am I crazy? And does anyone do or know anyone who does background checks? I don't think I would do that if he was here, but something about leaving the country...I mean, would you pay for me to fly to a Scandinavian country if you were going to kidnap or murder me? That seems like a long way to go. Lifetime Movie material though.
@katiemcgillicuddy Don't do it. Seriously. I had an account and held out for a reeeeeeally long time but then the election happened and now I can't get out. I. Can't. Get. Out. Seriously, send someone to get me.
@Yarnybarny There is a place in NYC called A Salt & Battery which is a delicious fish and chips shop run by English people. They fry Cadbury Eggs. Now. I am not a fan of those but omygod that was delicious.
@Countess Maritza "...there's no way the bells of France would allow a foreign worker to fly in and take their jobs."
@katiemcgillicuddy "He nice, the Jesus."
@Killer Kitties OK, so this is off topic but your comment reminded me of something Lizz Winstead said, "Until I was in my mid twenties I thought garlic was a salt."
@Rock and Roll Ken Doll When Israel was experiencing an epidemic of violent rapes and someone at a cabinet meeting suggested women be put under curfew until the rapists were caught, Golda Meir shot back, “Men are committing the rapes. Let them be put under curfew.” If only...
Comment in NYT on their article from Marna:
"14 February 2013 08:20 am will etched be in my memory for a long time. That was when the upbeat radio dj interrupted normal morning programming with the tragic news of Oscar Pistorius. I sat at my desk in disbelief for 10 minutes until the news bulleten on the radio. Valentines day lost all its excitement in that moment for me and many South Africans. It's a day later and i'm still in absolute shock. This man is one of our country's heroes, he is one of our success stories. One of a handful South Africans recognized by the world. We look up to him. He inspires us. He is on the advertisement boards, advertising the Academy Awards and I drive past it every day on my way to gym. I was reading an article about him a few days ago in a magazine where he was on the cover with his sister. How can this happen? My heart goes out to everybody involved. I hope from the bottom of my heart that he comes out on top somehow because, she might have died but he will walk with those emotional scars for the rest of his life."
I can't...I just can't.
@large__marge It's actually skin. No, I don't know and now I've icked myself out. Apologies.
