On 500 Days Alone In: The World

Life must be hard for your white male American ass, having to dodge monkey piss while Burmese people are dodging ethnic cleansing.

On What Would Jeanette Winterson Say?

@Cat named Virtute That part made me cry so much :( I really loved Why Be Happy, even though I also love her not-at-all-straightforward novels. <3 <3 <3

On Ask a Clean Person: Holiday Disasters 2012

@falconet Also, Barkeep's Friend is really good for when you forget to line the pan. Also for getting rid of that gross ring that forms in pots at the top of the boiling water whenever you boil something starchy.

@VolcanoMouse Especially if said cat is siamese. Those buggers live forever AND have the saddest yowls. (I say that with love. Siamese forever.)

On Assumptions

@Mabissa Ha ha ha ha ha!

GUYS now I have so many MORE fears of trash bags. Heads! Dead kittens! Live kittens that I am going to be responsible for their deaths because I'm too afraid of heads and dead kittens to open the bag!

On Assumptions

I'm not the only one who assumes that about every trash bag? When my parents bought the property they live on now, there wasn't a house there, so people had pitched their trash in the creek just up the driveway. I was SO afraid there was a body in one of them (which would not be that surprising here in moonshine and pot country).

On Beggars Choosing Beggars

@skyslang Thank you!!! As a rule, I really, really don't like dogs. (Really, I don't like anything that demands attention, which is why I don't want pets or children. I don't have the energy.) I had a friend who, if I came to her house and was upset about something, would tell her dog to sit on my lap and "hug me." Oh, god, no. Not everyone loves your dog as much as you do. I don't dislike well-behaved dogs, but I also don't love them, and it seems like most people I know do not teach their dogs to behave.

But, you know, I'm probably a sociopath.

@Regina Phalange This happens to me sometimes :( I guess my version of friendly comes across as flirty sometimes. I've just gotten more reserved and less touchy in general over the last few years, so it happens less. And when it did happen, I would just ignore it, which didn't work that well.
