Hello, I am a 20-year-old English student who lives in the brutally cold and icy region of Ottawa, Ontario in the great, picturesque nation of Canada. I am an enormous bookworm, hence the major, love to read. I am also an enormous "foodie", basically I love to eat, especially strange and unusual food and items made with lots of sugar and butter. I manage to stay shockingly (infuriatingly?) trim. I also spend way too much time on the Internet. Ahemmm.
"a forgotten drift of juice-foam"
I just wanted to pop in and say I love that.
I'm being kind of unnecessarily judge-y with this list, but I am disappointed...
Whatever. You gotta read:
LULLABIES FOR LITTLE CRIMINALS by HEATHER O'NEILL
It's about this little girl and her raunchy escapades in the down n' dirty city of Montreal and is written in really beautiful, but highly simplified prose with frequent glorious, highly descriptive metaphors you wish you thought of.
