On Ciara feat. Nicki Minaj, "I'm Out"

I don't know if it's the same in the US, but the word "spastic" and its derivations are very frowned upon the UK. Please could it be avoided in a safe space like the Hairpin?

On Friday Open Thread

@oh well never mind And I spent almost a whole day while on holiday in Italy lying on a sofa in my pyjamas and reading Caitlin Moran. My boyfriend's mum was all worried that something was wrong but I was like "nope! this is what I fancy doing today!" and it was great!

@Verity I always used to worry about wasting holiday time too! And then I realised that it just helped to listen to what I wanted to do *at that moment* as then I would properly enjoy my holiday. So several times when I've been away recently I've let myself just get a takeaway and sit in my hotel room watching a crap film. And then you're all refreshed and ready to spend a few hours the next day socialising/going to the museum/beach or whatever!

On Cronuts Are Like Donuts Only You Wait in Line For Them

@The Everpresent Wordsnatcher No, Cupnutterie sounds like the mass noun: "a Cupnutterie of Cupcakes, sweeping majestically across the plains"

On Cronuts Are Like Donuts Only You Wait in Line For Them

I've just discovered that Man Versus Food shows in the UK and I want these things to be combined somehow. MAN VERSUS CRONUT.

On Cronuts Are Like Donuts Only You Wait in Line For Them

@fondue with cheddar I think there are different types - the Scottish ones, which yes do have coconut in (and mashed potato, according to my friend's recipe!) and the multi-coloured French ones, which don't.

On Before Too Long, Everyone You Know Will Be Named Emma

@claire@twitter I'd say Yorkshire, rather than Wales. But I suppose they're not far apart from an American perspective! :)
