@RebeccaKW I know. everyone in this town who I meet and want to be friends with is cool couple or a single lady, and all of the people who do things I enjoy are basically ladies. For some health reasons I haven't been able to go to the gym I enjoy, which has more men in it, but I am not sure I want to date them, and I am confident that I do not look or feel my best AT the gym (it's the after part I enjoy), so, any ideas about dating in small towns, hairpin??

@RebeccaKW I had to reply to say I am in a similar conundrum. I have used okc successfully in the past when I lived in a city. Now I live in a very small town. 1 bar. It is a college town where I am now a professor. So, um, not going to be going on dates in the only bar in the town. Larger towns are closer to me than they are to you. But I have made a fake okc account and so many of the menz have children, and I appreciate them being upfront about it, but that's not something I'm into.

@yeah-elle your name is awesome. The first time I heard it (acquaintance), I was like, it's so pretty. Then when the toast did it's thing and brought the source story to my attention, I was like, it's bad-ass too.

On "I don’t want her to wear her good nature like a gemstone, her body like an ornament"

@themegnapkin that is why I only read the comments on very very very select sites.

@jenjenboben all I want to say is, I have manners. But, I was taught as a child not to talk to strangers. WHY DO PEOPLE EXPECT SOMETHING DIFFERENT NOW THAT I'M A GROWN ASS LADY. Oh wait, I'm a grown ass lady so I swear at them if necessary.

On Interview With a Feminist Mormon

@Judith Slutler I'm a feminist and culturally possibly religiously Mennonite. That podcast is what I need in my life. I just translate the Mormon stuff to Mennonite stuff in my mind, and am grateful it exists.

@tea sonata I had a pelvic ultrasound for an undefined abnormality in my ovary that turned out fine, and although that is not the same thing (but it is about ladyparts?), but the people were so, so, so, nice. They explained absolutely everything. I was freaked out but they were very calming. Good vibes to you.
