On How to Mount a TV When You Have No Boyfriend, No Prospects, and Lack the Shamelessness Required to Ask for Help

Or you could just put it on a TV stand of some sort. Significantly less effort! (My tenancy agreement also does not allow me to do anything whatsoever to the walls of my flat, which helpfully makes the decision for me.)

On Are You Part of the 16% of People Who Can't Look at This Without Screaming?

@sheistolerable I don't know if I have misophonia or if I'm just a grumpy person.

On Friday Open Thread

I start my new job on Monday! It is as a Graduate Trainee Library Assistant (translation: you spend a year getting to experience what being a librarian is like and learning the ropes, so you then have the required experience to get a place on a Library Studies Master's course if you want to do it as a career) at a big law library. I'm looking forward to it, although it's pretty scary.

My boyfriend and I have been living together for just under four weeks now. It's going okay - I am crying less, and am less homesick - but I am all stressed and angry and sad because I feel like I spend all my time trying to get stuff done (like cleaning and shopping and cooking), but I am crap and waste loads of time, so I neither accomplish that well nor get to do any of the fun things I wanted to do in this pre-work period (going to museums and reading, essentially). I am very cross with myself.

On Solution: Deal With It

@Verity (I offered to do the cooking and cleaning - my boyfriend and I have just moved in together and there's a lot to do, and he's at work all day whereas I am not. And he cooks at weekends and does the washing up and is great. But arrgh, I hate it and it is making me very angry and sad, so this is not really improving matters.)

On Solution: Deal With It

I have spent the last four weeks doing all of the cooking and cleaning while waiting for my new job to start (next Monday) and also found myself flicking through The Stepford Wives in a bookshop yesterday. This is not helping my underlying feelings of paranoia and despair.

On 14 Middle Animorphs Walk Into a Bar

Recently my boyfriend and I tried to recount the plot of the entire Animorphs series to some friends who had inexplicably missed out on the books. We were very excited. I have also been reading through this a lot - it's brilliant. http://cinnamonbunzuh.blogspot.co.uk/

This is fantastic. Taking notes for conversations with friends whose partners I dislike.
