@PistolPackinMama Congratulations, Jane! So exciting!
@hulia Yup, try anything labeled "curvy" - that means that the waist will be smaller and the hips bigger. I am also a big fan of Eddie Bauer curvy or Banana Republic's "Martin" fit. Eddie Bauer has both curvy and slightly curvy. I'm trying to remember where else - Old Navy, if you're looking for a cheap pair to tide you over, has a couple of fits that are curvier, but they have girls' names, and I can't remember what they are.
@Audley Late to the party to say HELLO SMITHIES. Class of 2002 and I did not go abroad - I did the Smithsonian program. I have several friends who LOVED the Geneva program, though - gov and psychology and other majors like that - and I didn't know anyone who went to Paris. Practically useless two cents, I know.
I have been waiting all week for this so I could tell you all that last weekend I went to the fancy bra store and a lady looked at the old VS t-shirt bra I was wearing and then brought me all the fancy bras to try on, and IT REALLY DOES MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE! I was wearing 34A bras because I have always had little boobs, and now I am wearing 34Cs and they are about one million times more comfortable and even slightly more flattering, I think! Everyone should go!
@frigwiggin Yes, I thought it was about Scotland and possibly golf. Maybe I should watch it.
@Xanthophyllippa What do you mean by "the kids get paid"?
@Megano! Nancy Drew NEVER would have changed her name.
@frigwiggin You don't have to walk there - Minneapolis public transit is SO EASY! I don't actually live there but was there for an extended weekend recently and LOVED every second of it. If you have any daytime free time, I loved the Mill City Museum for some state/city history, and I second Hell's Kitchen, especially for breakfast.
@Faintly Macabre I am currently experiencing summer-induced Mass Boy Hysteria, so I just thought I'd join in this thread. All sorts of boys who are generally not my type - I have a husband; he is tall and skinny and brilliant and a little nerdy but dresses sort of metrosexual, actually, probably due to all our older gay neighbors - and all these boys that I have huge crushes on are younger than me and much more conventionally athletic-looking 20-somethings. And more conservative - one was even in the army. I blame the ridiculous heat, I guess, because that's the only explanation I've got :)
@TheBelleWitch Me too, more or less. I vacillate about even wanting them, and I'm 32. Right now I don't. We both work in the same industry, which is fairly (but not entirely) male-dominated. I feel like even if there are no quantifiable changes at first, my status in everyone else's view is just going to plummet, and then nothing good will ever happen again. Ugh.
