On Interview with Dr. Susan Robinson, One of the Last Four Doctors in America to Openly Provide Third-Trimester Abortions
@Masha Bean@facebook @Allie Williams@Facebook I hope that some day you obviously very faithful and caring people can find it in your hearts to understand that for many women and their families, this IS the miracle of compassion, this IS God's grace, this IS the most loving choice that can be made to save their beloved baby from suffering. It's painful to discover that the world is not as black-and-white as you think it is, but it can also give you a much deeper, more profound understanding of the idea that God works in mysterious ways.
And now I want donuts. I belieeeve that Lizzo now hails from Minneapolis. Not to brag. (Sorry, Houston.)
@plumb-bob Yes, please!
"Even in a cup I establish myself." This interview is a future greatest hits of things I quote to myself for inspiration or solace or the kind of reality-check where you come out the other side even stronger. Can't wait to see the movie.
On "It's not my fault that we are made so, half from disinterested contemplation, half from appetite"
"I am an old poet who knows he hasn't much time left on the planet and is enjoying some whiskey at an airport bar, overwhelmed by the beauty that surrounds him, moved by the desires that come and go unfulfilled, amused by the insistent signs of life in an aging body that few but himself choose to see or notice."
On Get It, Girl
@PatatasBravas Ohhhh. Yeah. That's different. In my head "Stenzel was that child" meant "the child who was raped." Sorry. Carry on!
On Get It, Girl
@PatatasBravas I wonder how much of her anti-sex talks are some un/semi-conscious attempt to retroactively regain some control after being raped and carrying the rapist's child to term. What must *her* circumstances have been like if abortion wasn't an option for her as a 15-year-old rape survivor? Horror.
And yet. Ms. Stenzel, you are not helping.
@parallel-lines D: Oh god, that sounds terrible. Poor her (and you, because it's hard to see moms suffer). Thanks for the info, and I hope things get better!
@parallel-lines My mother had that surgery along with a hysterectomy last year and got a serious infection, and then had to have another corrective surgery, and now her vaginal opening is misaligned to the point that she won't be able to have P-in-V sex again unless she has more surgery, and she might be willing to just never have sex again because how many vaginal surgeries can one woman stand? And now she's having pains where her mesh is. Aaaaaaaagh.
What happened with your mom? Is she OK? Do you have a link to lawsuit info? Thanks for posting this, and good luck to your mom and the other complainants.
