On Imagining Grown-Ass Eloise

@sherbet Obviously not ruffling mine, either... Although I do disagree with some of the other descriptions/comments/rankings. But, hey, this isn't exactly some scientific ranking, so I guess we're all free to do our own, right? Although I'd clearly agree with #1.

On Scandals of Classic Hollywood: Robert Redford, Golden Boy

@Equestrienne I'd agree, but then you get the unfortunate association with sparkle vamps and he so outshines them that just... ugh. I'm very good with words today.

On Claire Messud and the Hammer of Justice

I may not read books to make friends, but I also would like to have some sympathy for at least one of the characters. I'm looking at you, The Emperor's Children. It doesn't mean it's bad if I don't like anyone, but it certainly might mean that I want to throw it at the wall.

On Bless Us, Every One

My favorite part: "my friends will be confused." I just imagine a bunch of older ladies receiving this invitation and looking around in disbelief, not knowing who this person, with the SAME NAME as them is and why they're getting mail at this address. If your friends are confused by this... they may have larger confusion issues at play here.

On Bless Us, Every One

@jule_b_sorry Ha! I read that as "creepily assassinated" first. Which, yeah, also, but not what you meant.

On Remembering Lilith: Natalie Merchant

The double album of "kids'" songs is amazing. My sister gave it to me when our daughter was born, and I love, love, love it.

On Name That Book!

@Erin Sturm@twitter YESSSS. Thank you! I had a feeling it was one of that group of authors, but could NOT think of it.

On Name That Book!

@SuperGogo The Goats was originally published in 1987 (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/526729.The_Goats). I think they just did a rerelease for its anniversary (I'm an Old, too).
