On Conceptual Marriage Ceremonies for the Wedding-Averse
@parallel-lines Oh! The "it takes all kinds" people. The best.
After we said our heartfelt vows in the beautiful field as the sun was setting, his dad's half of the family could only bring themselves to give me back pats and say "Well. That was... different."

@parallel-lines I feel the same way. I am an anti-wedding crusader now, at least in my head. I feel like our process was especially bad ironically because I got so obsessed with trying to make it low-key and affordable and not like, you know, all WEDDDDDIIIINNNGY.
Should have just gone to the birdseed aisle.

I wish I had had this handy guide two and a half years ago. Would have saved me from sewing ALL THE BUNTING FLAGS.

@JessicaLovejoy omg mine was SLARFACE. yes SLAR. It was some sort of inside joke with my 7th grade bestie that is now lost to the mists of time.

@liverwortlaura thanks. The worst part is we haven't spoken and my sister has been acting as intermediary. So like, I get to vent to my sister and my mom gets to vent to her and all the wires get crossed and neither of us are actually talking to each other and it's just bad bad bad.

God I am in a big fight with my mom, which almost never happens so when it does it feels epic and gut-wrenching. This is not a conversation starter, just have to vent. :(
