On New Music: Sigur Rós, Regina Spektor, Kelly Clarkson, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes

@anachronistique I actually spoke the words "eek" and "ooh" when I saw. I <3 Regina so much, she is my litmus test of whether a person is worth befriending!

On This is a Safe Space to Talk About Your Dissertation

Hairpin you are so timely! I am just starting my MA dissertation, about the instrumentalisation of the body in Margaret Atwood's _Oryx and Crake_ and _The Year of the Flood_.

Today I spent about an hour agonising over which notebook to buy, and ultimately got a paper cut off it within three seconds of owning it. But I reckon this is a bit like how in oldey times you had to cut yourself with your sword; now my notebook and I are joined by a pact of blood!

On Half Day

@camanda I am doing a masters in literature at the moment and think all my best essays start out as jokes! My last two made heavy reference to Love Actually and a jizz tree.

And good luck Decca! Have fun (exams can totally be fun).

On Girls I Have Loved for One Moment

@I'm Right on Top of that, Rose I'm reading Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit at the moment and just came across that line. I had to come back here to quote it :)

'Katy sat in a deckchair and Katy looked at the sun.
Katy ate an ice cream and Katy looked like fun.'

So many Feelings at this book!

On I Have That: Snatiation

On The Horse, Explained

@The Kendragon Haha! I still pretty much refuse to wear anything with buttons; I had a nightmare once where I got strangled by a polo shirt?

On The Horse, Explained

I never did horse riding lessons because when I had the opportunity, aged four, I insisted on always wearing dresses. Apparently that is not suitable horse-riding apparel (despite what films might have you believe).

On The Return of Ghost

There was a baby visiting my house today and that is how I know that I am crying exactly like one.

So sad, so beautiful.

@She was a retail whore

Such a fancy treat, I was celebrating finishing a first draft of an essay. I had one with mini creme eggs melted in, and danced with the dog. Twas lovely!

On Friday Open Thread

I am alone in the house right now, and just exclaimed out loud (real loud) on seeing the word pancakes written on the internet: "Pancakes! Mmmm."

Dinner-based epiphany! I am a loser, but seriously, pancakes. Mmmm.
