Most good places will let you do a trial ride around the outside of the store, too, so you can get a feel for what you like.
Like olivebee, I opted for a kind of cushy hybrid/commuter/cruiser thing (My make/model's a Giant Cypress). It weighs more than a road bike for sure, but it's a really comfy ride.
@maybe partying will help They go on sale every year circa winter holidays, too.
Best gift I ever bought for me.
@Xanthophyllippa nothing is too much when gyro meat is on the table.
@RK Fire gyro pizza is amazing.

@stuffisthings "She laughed awkwardly, then shook her head. 'I’ve always said that Michael will grow up to be either a Nobel Prize winner or a serial killer.' "
THE BAD SEED
@olivebee I like the "I'm going to obey the law, move along" wave.
Too many close calls from people who just fail to stop, even when they have totally seen me.
@Daisy Razor I've done a scavenger hunt with friends the past few years at dragon*con (e.g. obscure costume that your friends don't know, waldo, etc). One of the items is always uncomfortable question during panel.
Like... asking Tom Felton where to buy wizard diapers.
@Lindsay "The Dilettantista" Gordon Totally there. Totally amazing. And because I didn't have to process an actual REAL HUMAN INTERACTION I just got to take it all in. Including the parts where he talked about looking for excuses to grope Bev.
