@Heather Funk I didn't realize it was two different bakeries. Growing up in Houston in the 80's, I sold Tagalongs and Samoas. Sometime in the 90's, all the names changed, and then only recently switched back. I figured it was some sort of rebranding and re-rebranding move.

@bnna The New Yorker fiction podcast is so good, I wanna marry it. I also really enjoy the Longform.org podcast, which is interviews, but with journalists and editors, not necessarily the people you're going to hear on NPR each week.

@BosomBuddy Painting or DIY stuff for a new home is always a good idea. I bought my dad the new Barbara Stanwyck biography, and I got my mom some travel supplies - a kit that has a blanket, earplugs, and facemask and attaches easily to your luggage.

On Erica Gets An IV

Many years ago, I had blood drawn before surgery, so that I could have my own blood put back into me. They had trouble finding a vein, so they tied a tourniquet thingy on my arm first. When they put the needle in, the result was pretty much the same as Erica here.
