Also reminds of the first (only) time I had a boil. It was spring break my junior year of college, and the singing group I was directing were making a tour down in New Orleans and one of the dinners our host family treated us to a boil in their back yard. Delicious! Crawfish, I think it was. Also, same night, I think it was the first time I hooked up in a car (host family van, no less) with some guy who was hung about as big as my little finger, and a terrible terrible kisser. Ah, memories.

@themegnapkin Oh man, THIS. My last serious relationship taught me so much about how reductive "types" can be when they grow to become more important than just short-hand you can tell your friends so they can keep eyes out for you or something.
I was seeing this guy who wasn't bad looking, but I wasn't super wild about him sexually, but over the course of months and some difficult/not-so-great sex, I one day realized that the thought of going on a date with someone else (which had previously seemed rather attractive, especially if I saw some hunka walking down the street) just wasn't appealing anymore and I'd think: "I could fantasize about asking Hunk Y out for a coffee, but you know, I'd really rather just talk to SomeOtherGayGuy over dinner and dessert."
And whereas I had always liked the guy I was dating, I noticed that sexual attraction more and more and more came into focus and our sex life got better and better and better over time. I feel so lucky to have been able to discover this about myself.

OMG SPIDERS ARE THE SHIT. I would absolutely love to try out these strings! (while I'm at it, gimme the $$$$$$$$$$$$ it would take to buy some). I just recently switched my synthetic violin strings to gut-core ones, which sound FABULOUS and I didn't even get the amazing custom-order ones either! They sound so beautiful.
