I'm having one of those Fridays where I fall down the Scandals of a Classic Hollywood rabbit hole (aka The Best Kind of Friday)
Bustle is an excellent website. At Bustle, you can find many articles, about lipsticks but also who is running for Queen next England. Bustle is the perfect site for women who read but also enjoy being a wine desk for a Tall Man. Bustle: isn't it time you were reading it right now this time?
@melis i love you
As for me, these days, I read only Bustle.
Does anybody else remember Hortense? She was my favorite Jezebel-er at one point and then she just kind of vanished. I remember reading her Tumblr and it seemed like she had some personal life issues, but I hope she's doing okay.

I got a new job! I start it in a couple of weeks! I was unnecessarily worried about turning in my notice but they took it just fine. In fact, they took it better than I'd have wanted. But that's part of why I'm glad to be leaving soon. Way underappreciated. Onward and upward.

When did Hairpin commenters get so judgey? (sp?) I thought this story was great! When I'm faced with the prospect of moving or installing something very heavy, I usually think of the men in my life who have more body mass, therefore are usually more equipped (or maybe I should say more willing!) to lift/install heavier things, and if I had any lady friends with their body mass, I'd think of them, too. I don't think this author's impulses were in the wrong at all, and she installed the freaking thing all by herself! Sheesh.
@I'm Right on Top of that, Rose Yeah, I can't really identify my feelings about this series of interviews! It was very interesting, but it's hard for me to access this mindset (I honestly did not know that people feel blasé about the possibility of contracting HIV). Which makes me all the more appreciative of Jia's mad interview skills.
Hi Hairpin! I asked for San Francisco recommendations a month or two ago in an Open Thread and got some great responses - so I wanted to say thanks! I just got back on Sunday and had an absolute blast. You sure have a great city/surrounding area (Point Reyesssss oh man). :)
