Anything by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. I hardly ever hear them on the radio any more, but the sound of any of their songs makes me crazy with rage.

This thread makes me sound like I'm filled with rage a lot. I'm only occasionally filled with rage.

Oh, God, that one Simple Plan song where he's all whining "how could this happen to meeeeeee, I've made my mistakes, blah blah blah".

There is plenty of music that I like that I'm pretty sure is objectively bad, and I am embarrassed to have anyone but my partner know that I enjoy them, but that song is just an affront.

This is what you get when you drop in unexpectedly/uninvitedly on someone birthing a new human.

@Li'l Sebastian Could he possibly be so ignorant as to think that "trans" means "transitional"? Like, you are being phobic of my transitioning to a new name!

Never mind, that's the most Pollyanna thing I've ever written. Fuck him.

@dj pomegranate That's also some serious over-simplification... I think that people approach the word in a lot of different ways, but the movement itself has a rich history and at its current point in history is necessarily intersectional.

Here's a link to an essay detailing problems with Moran's argument. Key paragraph:

"My second and biggest problem, though, is this: a racist woman is not a feminist; she doesn’t care about helping women, just the women who look like her and can buy the same things she can. A transphobic woman is not a feminist; she is overly concerned with policing the bodies and expressions of others. A woman against reproductive rights — to use bell hook’s own example, and an issue close to your heart — is not a feminist; she prioritizes her dogma or her disgust over the bodies of others. An ableist woman is not a feminist; she holds some Platonic ideal of what a physically or mentally “whole” person should be and tries to force the world to fit inside it."

@maevemealone That reporter bothered me. She came off a little patronizing to me.
