@Four Horsemeals of the Eggporkalypse Oh no! Maybe my comments were too long and wonky? In any case, the important thing is that they made it into your inbox! I will totally let you know if (/when, most likely) I think of more things. When are you moving? So exciting!

@Heygirlhey Aaah ok! One more thing! (Tell me if you want me to stop. I didn't realize I had so many feelings about Albany!) There is this totally weird rollerskating place called Guptill's and it is STRAIGHT out of 1950 and totally worth going to if you're into...olde timey rollerskating. http://www.guptillsarena.com/

@nowwhat I am in a similar position, and I actually successfully negotiated my starting salary with HR today! (Not as high as I was hoping for, but significantly higher than their initial offer.) I think it's worth looking into, and I also think that they expect you to negotiate. As long as you approach it reasonably and politely, you should be able to work something out. Also, this might sound obvious, but it's helpful (at least it was for me) to remind yourself that if they've given you an offer, it means they think you'd be an asset to them. Good luck!!

@Heygirlhey Okay, a few more food-related things:
-This place used to have the BEST SANDWICHES EVER, but I hear it's under new ownership, and is no longer as delicious, so eat at your own risk: http://www.debbieskitchenllc.com/feedback.php.
-BRUNCH: http://cafe-madison.com/ and http://www.fourcornersluncheonette.com/
-Ice cream: Tollgate (kind of run down at this point, but a staple of my childhood!- http://www.tollgateicecream.com/); Stewarts is EVERYWHERE, but goddamn is their ice cream delicious (not Albany-specific, but a Northeast thing for sure) http://www.stewartsshops.com/

@Four Horsemeals of the Eggporkalypse I grew up outside of Albany! Fun facts:
-There is a building called "The Egg" that is (kind of) shaped like an egg!
-There is a giant dog (...statue) named "Nipper" who lives on top of a building!

Things to eat:
- Mexican: http://www.ellocomexicancafe.com/
- Burritos: http://www.bombersburritobar.com/
- Trendy: http://newworldbistrobar.com/
- Vietnamese: http://www.yelp.com/biz/vans-vietnamese-restaurant-albany
-Co-op: http://www.hwfc.com/

Fun to have!:
-http://www.wolffsbiergarten.com/ (I haven't actually been here [it opened after I moved], but everyone I know who still lives in Albany really likes it!)
-TULIP FEST, which is where we celebrate our Dutch heritage by eating fried dough and watching live performances by mediocre mid-nineties bands: http://www.albanyevents.org/events/event_detail.cfm?ID=2
-NYS Museum, which has a MASTADON and a super creepy longhouse and also a super creepy olde timey carousel featuring horses with REAL HORSE HAIR MANES: http://www.nysm.nysed.gov/
-Indian Ladders, which is the BEST PLACE ON EARTH! You can pick your own apples and eat the BEST DONUTS I HAVE EVER HAD: http://www.indianladderfarms.com/cgi-bin/ilf.cgi
-Thacher Park is really beautiful and has an awesome (non-sporty) hike that goes under waterfalls!: http://nysparks.com/parks/128/details.aspx
-Do you like those duck tours where you get to sit in a bus and then it becomes a boat? If so, your dreams are about to come true!: http://www.albanyaquaducks.com/
-I think this coffee place is really charming!: http://professorjavas.com/
-But not as charming as this movie theater!: http://spectrum8.com/
-Park!: http://www.albany.com/hotspot_washington-park.cfm

How not to freeze!:
-Get a big ass down jacket. You will feel ridiculous at first, but then you will feel SO WARM.
-Leather gloves! At first you will feel like a murderer kind of, but then you won't care because your hands will be SO WARM. (Are you noticing a pattern? You are going to look kind of craycray no matter what, but so will everyone else!)
-Honestly, you're just going to be kind of freezing all the time. But....you'll get used to it! And snow is pretty! And also, you don't have to be outside that much. Maybe get one of those things that lets you start your car from inside your house. People love those!

Aaahh I hope that doesn't overwhelm you! I will let you know if I think of more things!

On The Pros and Cons of Leaving Half-Eaten Sugar-Free Jello Pudding Out Overnight

I distinctly remember finding a frozen Gusher (one of these bad boys: http://www.tbseblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/gushers.jpg?w=300) in my car in high school and EATING IT. Whhhyyyyy? But also, I'm totally still alive!

On Why 1995 Was Probably the Best Year Ever for Movies

@antarcticastartshere That soundtrack was AWESOME. "Band of Gold," "I Want You Back," "Knock Three Times," AND "Sugar Sugar" on ONE COMPACT DISC? Yes please.
