FKA twigs, "Water Me"

Good morning! It's Monday, and the internet is probably full of terrible things already. Clear your head with "Water Me," the first single off of the second EP (EP2) from London's FKA twigs.

About that name, from an interview with Pitchfork's Carrie Battan last week:

...she explains that it’s a long-running nickname that refers to the way her bones crack... and proceeds to demonstrate by contorting her hands and arms. Her joints snap so loudly and quickly that it sounds like a bag of marbles spilling onto a wood floor– popping exclamation points from an artist who doesn't need to shout to be heard.

Damn, you're right, this is soothing as fuck.

Holy moly, this is visually striking! I'll have to keep an eye out for her other works.

In other music news, has anyone seen Gabrielle Aplin's cover of "Best Song Ever" by One Direction? It's really lovely:

Ahhh! The comment about her bones cracking and then the clicks and the rapid fire drum hits while her head bobbles at the start.

watched the beginning on silent and now I'm dizzy! what a pretty girl - also I need that lipstick.

@iceberg My first thought was WHAT LIPSTICK IS THAT WHAT LIPSTICK IS THAT.
It looks sort of like No. 7's matte long-wearing red.

@commanderbanana I also came in here to ask WHAT LIPSTICK IS THAT I MUST HAVE IT.

omg all of the pictures in the Pitchfork article have her wearing other shades of flawless lipstick, and yet they do not ask about it ONCE.

this is perfect.
