But those revolting chocolate chews were so delicious.
I don't know...I think I'd rather die of a heart attack than a slow death resulting from complications from a broken hip.
@fondue with cheddar Take the pills with lots of Vitamin D and a little bit of calcium rather than lots of calcium. Does the same thing, basically.
@Amphora That makes sense.
"A normal diet?" Does that description take into account the slew of people who have some form of lactose intolerance? Should I just spend my life eating hard cheeses?
@RK Fire "Should I just spend my life eating hard cheeses?" YES. For all the reasons.
@RK Fire I can't eat diary at all (like, not even low lactose or lactose free things, no milk or diary products or anything with casein or whey), and have been this way for about 6.5 years and when I got my blood tested a month ago at the doctors my calcium levels were in the normal healthy person range. I mentioned to him that I don't eat diary and asked if I should take the supplements anyway and he said no, since I'm clearly getting calcium from other foods I eat.
So I figure as long as you eat a healthy varied diet (aside from diary I try to eat some of all of the food groups each week) you're probably fine. Remember there is calcium in all kinds of foods.
@RK Fire Gouda 'nuff for me.
@Jizzcliner Sounds like a grate idea.
@fondue with cheddar Gruyère? I hardly know her!
We should stop it with the puns though. They're kind of cheesy.
@Jizzcliner But they're so much fun(tina)!
@fondue with cheddar We should seriously let it brie.
@Jizzcliner Asi...ago do something else instead, then.
@fondue with cheddar THAT'S AN EMMENTHALER WAY TO ROQUEFORT, DOCTOR!
@fondue with cheddar But these are seriously string-ly satisfying.
@Jizzcliner You can say that again, Jack!
@fondue with cheddar @Jizzcliner I love you both and your puns.
@Sea Ermine I'm well served on the leafy greens and the broccoli front.. so hopefully I should be good! My doctor also didn't say anything last April when I got bloodwork done so hopefully that bodes well.
@RK Fire Thanks! It's in our blood...we do what ricotta do.
@fondue with cheddar I'm mozz so good with puns. :(
@RK Fire Use this opportunity to stretch your pun muscles until they're nice and limburger!
Hey, where is everyone? Let's take this pun thread and rennet into the ground!
@fondue with cheddar
You guys took all the good ones! You're so Kraft-y.
@teaandcakeordeath No whey! There are plenty more where that came fromage.
@fondue with cheddar I knew coming in that this was all a feta-compli
@Ophelia You curd be right.
@fondue with cheddar Well, queso-ra sera!
@Ophelia These pun threads are so much fun, but when they fizzle out it always makes me bleu.

Or as they say over at The Awl, "We're All Gonna Die".
Did you know you are not supposed to take iron and calcium together, because they will bind together in your stomach, so you won't get the full effect from them? Did you know this is called chelation. Did you know chelation is one of the funniest words to pronounce? Go on try it! You'll like it!
@Pyxis Are you telling me steak and bleu cheese is a bad combo? :-(
Does anyone have a "normal diet" today?
And I mean that both as a humorous rhetorical question about the human condition and somewhat legitimately, like when some one says "normal diet" do they imply people roughly eating the bullshit food pyramid? or like a 1940s war ration diet or something? or 1 "serving" of random foods?
