"Elegantly wasted — Let’s be real: if you saw the pallid human blancmange that is Pete Doherty slinking down the street towards you in jeans and T-shirt, you’d give him the widest of possible berths. But give the man a trilby hat and a blood-spattered volume of symbolist poetry, and lo, he becomes “elegantly wasted”. It’s OK, we don’t get it either."

music blogging is legit one of the worst things about the internet

@Josh is like Germany Ambitious and Misunderstood
mate, that isn't even the language of music blogging, that is the language of british music press of the 1990s.

@Josh is like Germany Ambitious and Misunderstood Also but especially zines

I'm glad they don't get it. I wonder if they're prepared to mention Marc Blanco? The Guardian deletes all comments that merely mention Marc's name, let alone the manner of his death or Doherty's proximity to it.

"pallid human blancmange" though, <3

Admittedly I have gone through phases of Doherty fascination, but am now at the point where I have both accepted the fact that he is a vile, shady human, and am constantly surprised when I see his name not followed by the words "was found dead today" or "is back in gaol."

@faustbanana At least he's not Richard Marx.

Ugh, I was madly in love with him from when I was 15 to when I was 17, filthy fingernails and all.

Thinking about someone describing a song as an "Electro-fuelled stomper" makes me blood-rushed angry.

I like that dictionary (and do not like anything to do with Pete Doherty who is just grubby).

They just need to add a reference to "popstrel" used in relation to any diminutive female singer (eg Kylie).
