Taxidermy Hide and Seek

Photographer Klaus Pichler takes pictures of [professionally] stuffed animals caught in various scenes of escape and engagement throughout the back hallways of Vienna's Museum of Natural History, and the resulting collection, "Skeletons in the Closet," is on display there through February 3. (More images here – No. 6 in particular. Could all make for an interesting Night at the Museum update.)

@TheLetterL ALWAYS HAPPY TO OBLIGE

I kind of love the shark, though. "HAAAAAAY EVERYBODY WHERE THE PARTY AT?"

TheLetterL

@anachronistique Thank you!

Sincerely, Jane

@anachronistique But the shark's eyes! He's clearly distraught and looking for his friends who have abandoned him. My heart is breaking.

All that photo makes me think of is "Candygram!"

I work at a natural history museum and am constantly having the living daylights scared out of me by some piece of taxidermy left in a "behind the scenes" area that is either being refurbished or is just lurking around being creepy.

A local boutique here just had a taxidermy night where people paid a small fee and learned how to do a small taxidermy project (everyone worked on their own little mouse). Sorry, but I just can't get into that.

@lookuplookup Do you think, somewhere in the world, there is a taxidermist who makes little mounted taxicabs made up of animal skins?
