Robin Sparkles Is Not Real, Though, Guys

If you have, I don't know, a thousand hours to kill, the National Film Board of Canada's online archives contain all these delightful (and not necessarily Canada-themed) animated shorts and documentary features and videos of William Shatner singing 'O! Canada' (that one is Canada-themed.)

Or this one, about wild animals in the city.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, Robin Sparkles is real because she lives in my heart! Take it back, Cliffe!

@katiemcgillicuddy This is word-for-word what I was going to say.

I don't want to live in a world where "Two Beavers Are Better Than One" is not a real song.

Valley Girl

"Let's Go to the Mall" is practically the unofficial theme song for the Friday Bargain Bin!

@meetapossum I like the show fine, it grew on me over time, but Robin Sparkles makes it 110% more awesome. Robin Sparkles now, Robin Sparkles forever.

@katiemcgillicuddy Robin Sparkles, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.!

@katiemcgillicuddy Speaking of which, she's going to be back soon! Every Robin Sparkles episode renews my hope and love for HIMYM.

@meetapossum My mom's local paper in Canada is "The Napanee Beaver." Also, if I could be anyone in the world, I would be Cobie Smulders.

@Nicole Cliffe The beaver is a noble creature.

@katiemcgillicuddy My sis lives in Switzerland, and according to her, everything the Swiss know about Canadians comes fom How I Met Your Mother. If they get sick of singing Let's Go To The Mall to her, it's Two Beavers Are Better Than One. I went to visit her over the holidays, and when the 19 year old who tried to pick me up heard I was Canadian, it was all, ROBIN SCHERBATSKY!!

Thank you Nicole for always bringing a touch of Canadiana to the Pin.

I don't even need to click to the "b" section have The Blackfly Song in my head. I don't even need to go to NFB's page to have The Blackfly Song in my head. All I need to do is remember that, somewhere on the internet, The Blackfly Song exists.

black! fly! the little blackfly! always a blackfly no matter where you go!

Watching this is making me homesick for Vancouver! I'm a Canadian in Utah (for grad school), too and I love these shout-outs from the motherland. Thanks!

Flies in my eyes

Ah Canadian city living. I once had to shoo two drunk, shouting homeless men from my doorstep. Two months later I had to shoo five racoons from my doorstep. Both incidences made me a little nervous, but one was definitely a lot cuter...

Heather explained to me the whole process of making the krupnik, which you can’t easily just go buy, apparently, and certainly not in this highly spiced and honey-infused incarnation, and so I decided then and there that I wanted to make krupnik, too.viagra

This was one of the most uninspiring travelogues I have ever read. Greece is one of my dream locations to visit and the writer seemed bored and almost ungrateful to be in such a wonderful place.
