We The Tiny House People: Small Homes, Tiny Flats & Wee Shelters

Kirsten Dirksen, co-founder of Fair Companies, has made her entire full-length documentary on "tiny house people" available for free. Watch as she goes on a "5-year journey into the tiny homes of people searching for simplicity, self-sufficiency, minimalism and happiness." Speaking of, has anyone seen Edith?

O my God, this is my lifelong obsession. I have fascinated and delighted by little houses since I was a child. I love that a really small space forces you to question what you own and keep and curate instead of being able to mindlessly collect things because you have the room. My mom watches all those home-buying shows and it always amazes me how much space people think they need.

I watched this whole thing and am fully indoctrinated. I wish she'd gone with slightly less over-wrought voiceover. The Spanish tiny houses were the best.

I'll admit that I only scanned through this video, but it looks like she didn't profile any homes in developing (or non-Western) countries, which seems an odd choice. India, for instance, is pretty much full of people who are masters at living in small, functional spaces. Maybe it's seen as less interesting since, in places like India, nearly everyone lives on this? Or less interesting when impoverished people live in small spaces because they're forced to do so? (Though in India, both impoverished and middle-class folks tend to live in small homes). Genuinely curious about this omission.
