"Just to clear this up, some people are under the impression that Eli was conceived at the bar"

"Too Jewish for the Prairie, that’s your second book."
Amy Poehler interviews Rachel Dratch about her first book, 'Girl Walks Into a Bar ... Comedy Calamities, Dating Disasters, and a Midlife Miracle,' and gay ghosts. It is very charming.

Amy Poehler is the best human being on earth today and I love her so much and now I'll read this book because she loved it, the end.

@thebestjasmine Agreed. And the second best human on earth today is Abel Arnett.

Lily Rowan

@thebestjasmine RIGHT? I have a good feeling about Dratch from this as well, obviously, but it just reinforces how much I wish Amy Poehler were my best friend.

@Decca ALSO THAT. Big head ginger baby!

@Lily Rowan Ahhhh, that's amazing.

i bought this book on my kindle and read it almost without stopping in one night/morning. incredibly smart and funny and down to earth and interesting and poignant all rolled into one.@a

For some reason the link in the post above kept just taking me back to the post. But here's a transcript of the interview from Daily Beast:

Edith Zimmerman

@Ophelia Oops, I forgot the most important part! Thank you; fixed.

@Edith Zimmerman No prob. Your fancy hyperlink is much nicer.

oh, disaster

Coworkers and I were JUST talking about Ms. Poehler and I couldn't stop gushing, as if I know her or something (I wish).

AHHHHHH, so Rachel Dratch is finally getting a show! She is so underutilized, it's a crime. I also need Tim Meadows to get a show, please.

@werewolfbarmitzvah "I did not leave the South Side for THIS!" I love Tim Meadows.

"We hit it off instantly, and we went on to become lovers, and then finally, we’re just friends.”

Was the lovers thing a joke? I mean I know they are both in relationships with dudes now but...sometimes my reading comprehension isn't high.

Edited to add: I wish I could join their circle of friends. But who doesn't?

@beanie I think they were seeing who was paying attention.<3

"...female comics-like bestsellers Tina Fey and Chelsea Handler-are truly having their moment."

Why does it have to be a moment? IT NEEDS TO BE FOREVER BECAUSE FUNNY LADIES.

I'm so glad Ms Dratch is friends with Amy Poehler, because being friends with Tina Fey was a waste of time. Rachel and Tina were together until Tina and Co. decided they needed someone better looking than Rachel, and she was out and that one-note Jane Krakowski was in. Engh, Tina, you're ugly on the inside for dumping your friend. Rachel's Russian hooker line to Alec Baldwin's character "You want I clean this too? Or just the sex?" was one of the funniest parts of Season 1.

@Myrtle PS-Special to Dratch and Poehler- get a sitter, and the first round of Darts are on me. Also the shots and beers.

@Myrtle I always got the impression (and this may be wrong) that Tina wanted to keep Rachel but at that time didn't have the star power to do so, and Lorne got Jane.

AHHHHHHH This was the best! I love these two. I avoid celebrity books like the plague but I am TOTALLY reading this one!

Has anyone seen the movie "Spring Breakdown"? For all its flaws, I love it, and I hope with every fiber of my being they get to make a movie together again, except this time with money & support. Bridesmaids, Schmridesmaids.
