Oh nooooo! Sucked into the youtube nail art vortex. Goodbye, productivity for the day.

Megasus

The winner will be whoever manages to paint Katniss and Peeta making out on their nails.

@Megan Patterson@facebook KATNISS AND GALE YOU MEAN

j/k stupid gale

EpWs

@redheadedandcrazy TEAM GALE 4EVA. Seriously I am still pissed about how his storyline ended.

@The Everpresent Wordsnatcher SPOILER!!

EpWs

@The Everpresent Wordsnatcher But I took the spoiler out! I'm sorry! I don't mean to spoiler things!

insouciantlover

@The Everpresent Wordsnatcher Haha, I was joking/being an asshole in a way that only I ever think is funny. I finished the last book a few weeks ago.

EpWs

@insouciantlover Hahaha, love it. I actually did edit the first version of my comment because spoilers so I was worried that someone had accidentally seen them...? I don't know, I got castigated at work the other day because I accidentally revealed a Walking Dead Plot Point from the comics and am on the spoiler hyper-alert now. :P

Megasus

@The Everpresent Wordsnatcher Well if you were talking about the show, I dunno if it counts.

redheaded&crazy

Well I can tell you a few who won't win.

~catty!~

ilikemints

@redheadedandcrazy Yeah, some didn't even make it past the Cornucopia.

thebestjasmine

@ilikemints Knife in the back immediately.

ilikemints

@thebestjasmine Cinna would not approve.

I NEED to be able to do this! (On my toenails, however. Flame-y nails might be an issue at work)
Also- I need to state right here, right now, I never gave a crap about my nails until I was watching one of Jane's tutorial videos and she had GORGEOUS nails and was wearing Essie's "Chinchilly".

LaLoba

I really hope these are thirteen year old girls making these designs and videos. Not because it's like "too silly for adults," or anything, but because I really like imagining the eighth graders I used to tutor who LOVED THE HUNGER GAMES going home after school and spending their time doing this.

Hellcat

I know nothing of anything Hunger Games-related but... flame-motif nails! I want!

charizard

I read the first few chapters of the first Hunger Games book (with zero cultural context - this was about a year ago) and it read like dystopian Twilight. I couldn't finish it. I felt defeated, as this was the first time I truly gave up on a book for being awful.

Fodforever

@charizard So wait, does that mean you read Twilight and didn't give up on it? Or that, you have not read Twilight and just know from word-of-mouth it's the scourge of all things literary?

I've read both, and while THG isn't particularly well-written or original, it's no Twilight (in terms of the absolute assault on the English language that is Twilight).

Idk, I thought for a YA book THG was fine. Couldn't bring myself to read the 3rd one though... I guess because I was more interested in the killing than the politics or the love "triangle" (phu-leeze, we all knew it would be Peeta, he gave her bread and his name even sounds like delicious pocket-bread!).

charizard

@Fodforever I've read enough excerpts to know what I'm talking about. Specifically, I'm not talking theme (well, maybe theme), I'm talking quality of writing. I think I got about five chapters in before giving up and moving on to something else on my Nook. And before you say that YA writing is always going to be more simplistically written, it doesn't have to be written so it's readable for preschoolers. The Golden Compass books are technically YA, and at no point were my writing sensibilities offended. And I'm no scholar or grammar nazi.

Fodforever

@charizard Ah, gotcha. I wasn't trying to call you out on reading Twilight (oh man, if such a thing is even possible!), just wanted to clarify since I think Twilight is written more poorly in comparison. Maybe because of the content I didn't pay as much attention to the quality of writing for THG? The Golden Compass is really great; for sure there is a continuum of quality when it comes to YA like any genre.

She Saved The World, Alot

May the odds be EVER in your favor #1 and #6.

EpWs

#1 "These shapes...the best way I can describe them is tadpoles, where they're thicker and rounded at the bottom and thinner and pointed at the top."

They're little sperms, honey. It's okay. (Your nails look good!)
