Florence + the Machine, "Shake It Out"

The lovely and talented Florence Welch released another awesome track from her sophomore album, Ceremonies (out November 7), and although most evidence of it has already been scrubbed from YouTube/SoundCloud/etc., you can pick it up on the album's iTunes pre-order page for $1.69. (Or elsewhere, if you want to be sneaky.)

Oops, I spoke too soon. Listen quick:

Previously: Her gorgeous "What the Water Gave Me."

Elsewhere: T-Pain covers The Procaimers' "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)." (!) Also, Justice, "Helix."

This makes me ecstatic for the new album! I wish I could pull off being a redhead like her. ::sigh::

Man, part of me is always like "Florence and the Machines is emotive-blouse, Eat Pray Love-montage music, not for me" but then songs like this stop me dead in my tracks. Punched in the heart by her spindly little wrists.

I used to feel like this too – like, especially as a dude, even though I try to be forward I get this "I listen to man-music! The Stooges and Misfits, Dusty and Otis and Rev Al, Run-DMC and Biggie!"

But man. A few weeks ago, me and one of my boys who are often the same were out for dinner w/ his looooongtime girl (who I adore, she's a sister to me!) and a good friend of theirs (who I think they want me to end up with, in that awful thing couples do where they just pair up all their single friends, and everytime they ask me to go out to dinner it feels suspiciously like a double-date) at JJ's in Astoria.

We're outside smoking a cigarette, talking about Spotify. My boy says to me, almost embarassed – "You know…I'`ve been listening to a lot of Bon Iver lately."

"Yeah. It's kind of awesome, right?"
"Yeah. M—– has me listening to Florence & the Machine too."
"Really? I have been too. And I found a Regina Spektor cd that was hers from when I moved."
"Oh, can we get that back?"

Getting older rules.

Probably the only time in my life I've actually wished for November to get here faster. Damn, I love her music.

Anyone else feel like she's channeling Carly here a little bit?

@thatsrealbutter God, I love that song.

I found "What the Water Gave Me" almost alarmingly addictive.

… Ok, Im going to go listen to it again.

Florence, yes. I tried to listen to that T. Pain song, but then my ears started bleeding, so I had to turn it off.

I once dug Florence and the Machine. She's got a strong voice and talent. Then she got massive airplay and now her voice makes me think of waiting rooms, the line at the grocery store and my mom's burned CDs.

That sound cloud looks like a vibrator.

PistolPackinMama (#7,875)

Is it just me, or does the soundwave print thing at the bottom there look like a tampon?

ann aunamis (#3,973)

@AnthroK8 It's just you, it looks like a vibrator.

'Cosmic Love' still gets me all choked up. Stupid music.

You can now get this song on downplayer.com for free today. This is not an advertised plug for this site, but I think its a neat little site where you can get different songs every day and this is such a nice song.

But of course, always pay for music and stuff.
