I hate to be a negative Nancy, but sometimes I just feel like "WTF Hairpin?" Like, what is this even about? I don't even find most of these funny. Sometimes I feel like its just all random stuff kind of thrown at us with wacky feminist references…
@ShamelaAndrews I wish I could explain why this made me laugh so hard. I think it's the juxtaposition of the ridiculous image with the caption that takes the reality of the picture seriously. But, Shamela, it makes me laugh so hard my coworker ran into my office "hear the joke"
@ShamelaAndrews I'm with you all the way, buddy. The bird/new king one is kind of "heh" but most of his stuff seems to be of the "lol so random!" variety of comedy. "Punch us in the nipples"? How very… Dane Cook. How does this guy get featured again and again on a website otherwise full of amazing content?
@ShamelaAndrews hmm this is so interesting! I don't usually get Behrle's stuff that much although I do find it more accessible than Relationshapes, but this exact one I love so hard! Probably because fairies.
@ShamelaAndrews i was pretty much with you up until now. this one got me. it just got good.
@I need a manicure while it's frustrating to me that dane cook is allowed to breathe the same air i do, please don't deny the "lol so randoms" our simple, much-needed, much-appreciated chuckles!
@cbrownson This is not Jezebel, chill out. I just don't get the humor, and I was looking for enlightenment as to why people think they are funny. I dunno, maybe I just don't get the jokes? Regardless I DO hate to be a Negative Nancy because I LURVE The Pin and I think the content is generally amazing. But this, this I don't get. I'm allowed to have my own opinion, just like you are allowed to be sort of a dick in the comments! See? Free will!
Whenever people complain about the Behrle ones (I've seen it twice this week), it makes me think they're annoyed because they want to have their own comics on the Hairpin and don't. Because the only time I get pissed off over web content is when I'm envious or annoyed with myself for not having pitched the idea first. You know? I don't read the Qream ones because I don't eat sugar… but they don't piss me off just for *existing.*
I'm not accusing you particularly, Shamela. I'm just saying.
@ShamelaAndrews I hear you, sister. Better than the relationshapes, though.
And @Xora, I'd say it's more of (for me), hey, this isn't as awesome as other stuff here. I have no comics, or captions waiting for posting on the internets. All that aside, if the Hairpin godesses will it, then so be it.
Also: why are the bird-king and gnome clothed, but the fairy's all nekkid? Questions abound.
i know this matters to no one but me, but this old cartoon i was into 10 years ago ripped off that first illustration and put their characters in it. i looked all over for it but it's in like a "cool pix" folder from 2001. damn!
well, there, i said it, it can stop bothering me now.
*sigh* I love these.

@ShamelaAndrews: "But I'm a bird!" made me make sound when it amused me.

@iceberg Me too. And the commas!
@ShamelaAndrews BEHRLE SUCKS!!
@ShamelaAndrews i was pretty much with you up until now. this one got me. it just got good.

@Jim Behrle@twitter shhh
@iceberg Relationshapes is dead… Long live Relationshapes!!!
RELATIONSHAPES RELATIONSHAPES RELATIONSHAAAPPPPEESSSSS COME BAAAACK.
@Jim Behrle@twitter BEHRLE SUCKSSSS THE joy out of things and then delivers it, condensed, to a website, regularly, every week!
@ShamelaAndrews I don't think you hate to be a negative Nancy.
@Jim Behrle@twitter I was punched in the nipples in a good way.
@cbrownson !!!!!!
@cbrownson This does not cater precisely to my interests, therefore it sucks.
@cbrownson This is not Jezebel, chill out. I just don't get the humor, and I was looking for enlightenment as to why people think they are funny. I dunno, maybe I just don't get the jokes? I like these so much I might just write you a poem, Jim.
Commas punching fairies in the nipples! I wish "nipples" was school appropriate so I could post this in my classroom.
@Rebecs You beat me to it. This would really augment my comma lesson!
@Rebecs Change nipples to tummies?
@Rebecs Or, better yet, tummy. Unless fairies have multiple stomachs – who knows!
@girlandtonic They only have one stomach but they look like a relationshape
i freaking love these. i look forward to them waayyy too much.
Ok, this is a good one Jim Behrle.
KISSING GENTLY OVER A MUSHROOM!!!!!!!!
@Katie Heaney Hahahaha, that was my favorite too – seeing that makes me feel like my silly, mushroom-less human relationship is meaningless.
"let's not move in together"
But I'm a bird!
(#best time something got funnier the more I thought about it)
@fareby_galore Yes, this one was Zoolander quality.
MerMAN @Ophelia, MerMAN!
I'm stifling giggles here.
"I want to take our relationship to the next level."
What, like, on top of the mushroom?
@laurel FLOATING ABOVE THE MUSHROOM
@laurel underneath the mushroom.
I love these ones!!! The commas one slays me.
"Govern Us!!"
Jim Behrle is so rude for making me do a spit take with my tea when I read "But I'm a bird"
