Um, this is all I want to be a crappy housewife. Well maybe without the crappy part, but wtf is wrong with wanting to be someone's mom/wife whatever. I don't know maybe it's the stepford wife in me. There I go throwing years of women's rights right out the window!
And when you think it couldn't get any worse, you arrive at the 2:05 mark.
Also, doesn't that first line sound a little Baby Jane Hudson-ish?
You know, I thought luring the extras from Jersey Shore to Norway would solve some problems, but obviously they were not deterred when they had to leave their autotune equipment at customs.
@Lady TPain That's an insult to Jersey Shorians
@dabbyfanny Excellent point. It's more like its a pastiche, yes? The essential Shorianness can't really be duplicated, but they aimed way past Eurotrash. In fact, I think its an insult to Eurotrash as well.
The Norwegian thing has me all confused! If a Brit had done it, I'd know that it was deeply ironic and searing analysis of the shallowness of the music industry but then if a Brit had done it, it would be catchy and danceable too. So I guess it just flat out sucks ass. Yep!
Why is it that when American women are dressed like they were stranded at Atlantic City with only fifteen bucks to purchase a metallic gift store tube dress, I avoid them, yet when the women in question are foreign, I immediately want to party with them?
@JessicaLovejoy
Oh, wait, this is one I know the answer to! Because you never had to live there.
There appear to be several little girls trapped inside her.
This really needs a Dana Vachon close reading.
Holy sharts was this recorded with garageband? Also, was the video filmed at the Knights of Columbus?
@notjesslane
It was filmed at a "glamorous release party" at Himmel & Hav restaurant in Tønsberg, Norway on 16 May, according to the writeup in the local newsrag, which ran a publicity picture of Tonje that you might not necessarily want to miss.
Anybody 20 and over was invited. But one was expected to wear one's very best.
Just to be clear about this important point, the glamorous release party is what you see on the video.
"INVITES TO GLAMOROUS RELEASE PARTY"
"Tonje Langeteig from Holmestrand is a many-sided entertainer in most genres. She is best known for her participation in NRK's [the state broadcasting company's] making-out programme, 'Dating in the Dark'.
"Now Tonje is releasing her first song [and] holding a release party at Himmel & Hav on Tønsberg Quai 16th May, 9:00 pm. The song is called 'I don`t wanna be a crappy housewife'. The music video will be filmed the same evening, and behind the controls are, among others, fashion photographer Henrik Kihlstrand from Horten. He promises a very special video. The theme of the video is glamour and guests are therefore asked to dress up. Open to all over 20 years of age."
This is a joke right? Please tell me it is so I can feel better about Norway.
@rebajay If you want to believe that this video is unfair to Norway, you probably shouldn't click this link.
Awwww…
She doesn't have to be a crappy housewife! She could be a really good one if she feels that strongly about being a crappy housewife.
Congrats on finding someone I dislike more than Katy Perry!
@MeganToTheMax And I, for my part, have found a song that is worse than LuAnn DeLesseps' "Money Can't Buy You Class." Wait — LuAnn DeLesseps IS a crappy housewife. *faints*
Just when you thought it was safe to go on the Internet. Fuck me, this is awful.
I AM CRYING
Wow. Have you seen the live version?
they couldn't even wait for nightfall to film. Getting to the club in broad daylight. . .
