Collaboration of the Year: Yo-Yo Ma and Lil Buck
This is almost better without context, but here's a quick backstory from the man who took the video: "Someone who knows Yo-Yo Ma had seen Lil Buck on YouTube and put them together." That's Spike Jonze, of course, because Spike Jonze eats gorgeous collaborations for breakfast.

I wonder where that guy keeps his skeleton while he's dancing.
This is really spectacular. I watch things like this and wish I could do something really beautiful with my body like that.
Meh.
There, we don't all agree.
For those interested, here's a lovely video on the collaboration produced for Southern California Public Radio by an old high school friend of mine. It's really quite moving. http://bcove.me/a4s8iu6l

This is like: Awesome Sandwich presented to you by Awesome Plate.
I can totally see that guy in some neo-bauhaus, silent tragic mime ballet. And I would absolutely love it.
You know, I know how a cello works. And I know how the human body works. I do not possibly understand how that much awesome can be gotten out of either of them.
heyyyyy I LOVE that song, it's Camille Saint-Saens, Le Cygne (The Swan)
oh my god. I can't stop watching.
and the way he curls up in the end. oh my god.
