A bone was found on the uninhabited island of Nikumaroro, near the southwest Pacific nation of Kiribati, and experts are trying to determine whether it's Amelia Earhart's finger or a turtle's.

It's a turtle giving Amelia Earhart the finger?

My inner 8th-grader is FREAKING OUT EXCITEDLY right now.
(Only because when I was in 8th grade, we visited her birthplace on a family vacation, which prompted me to go through a phase where I read every single book I could find about her, including this one novel-type one that talked a LOT about her affair with Fred Noonan and had several awkward (for a 12-year-old) sex scenes that talked about 'lambskins' and made me totally confused about condoms for the next few years. ANYWAY at one point, I knew pretty much everything there was to know about Amelia, but now I mostly just remember the sex stuff.)
The Hairpin has been live for how many weeks now? And this is the first Amelia Earhart post?
